Sunday Service at NCC
Sunday, June 12, 2016 - 10:00am
Come join us Sunday mornings for an enlightening sermon by Reverend Jeff Utter, engaging children's activities, and special music with a variety of guest soloists!
Communion Sunday is the first Sunday of each month, and Healing Touch Sunday is the third Sunday of each month. Sunday Morning Childcare is available each Sunday from 9:45am to 11:45am.
Notes for this Sunday's service:
The Hebrew scripture for this week is the story of Ruth and Naomi. You may be familiar with the story which is usually told from the perspective of Ruth’s loyalty to her mother in law, Naomi. “Your people will be my people,” she says. On Sunday, we will look at the story with a different lens. How do Ruth and Naomi respond to the many changes in their lives? The Greek scripture is the first few verses of the first chapter of Matthew. It is one of the “begat” sections, showing us how people in the old testament are connected to the people of the new testament. Sunday’s reading will show how God intervenes in the midst of Ruth’s and Naomi’s story.
Justice and Harmony,
Message: "Change Matters"
