2-22-15: Keeping The Wrong Secrets

Scripture: Joel 2:1-2a, 12-14; 2:16, 17b; Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21

In place of our traditional Ash Wednesday evening worship service, we will begin the Lenten season with distribution of ashes and a time for quiet reflection in Sunday morning worship.  Renewing our spirits and returning to God reconnects our hearts to the heart of Christ.  Sunday's worship is a time for spiritual renewal, based on honest reflection and introspection, in the the hope that we may purge those things (memories, attitudes, past actions, current behaviors) that separate us from God.  From this honest reflection, we confess and empty ourselves of our sins, so that God may refill and refuel our spirits with love, mercy, and grace.  See you Sunday.
