Scripture readingJohn 15:1-101 Corinthians 12:12-14, 19-27

This Sunday we focus on the church, small “c” and capital “C”, understanding it, as Paul writes in his letters, as the Body of Christ. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ means that humanity has been organically bound together forever, in an endlessly mysterious and endlessly life-giving way. It is the task of the Church and of individual Christians to testify to this to those who do not yet know of it. This aspect of the Gospel brings special joy to those who have striven to be faithful members of the Body of Christ and yet have experienced the pain of conflict and division, seemingly within the very Body. But the life of the Body of Christ continues and grows and deepens, thanks be to God. See you Sunday!
