5-08-16: The Womb of Humanity

Scripture: 1 Samuel 1:19-21, 24 -28; Luke 1:39-49

The traditional American Mother's Day is, we hope, evolving from its origins in an era when gender roles were rigid in our society, and women's place was considered to be "in the home." Years ago our UCC renamed this day, calling it "Festival of the Christian Home." But motherhood is also broader than the family home. Sunday's message will offer some reflections on the divine origin of motherhood.
